Juhng Gwuhn: Straight Punch

Juhng Gwuhn (straight or center punch) is characterized by which knuckles are striking the target, with this type of punch the index and middle finger knuckles strike the target on the front part of the folded fingers (the first or proximal phalanges - closest to metacarpals). Superior execution emphasizes striking less with the phalanges and focusing impact with the distal end of the metacarpals thus allowing more power transfer from the blow.
